Prudence Photography takes its name from Dear Prudence by The Beatles, a nod to my favorite all-time band :)
I’m Tye Acierto, a Chicago wedding photographer and videographer with a strong foundation in storytelling, film, and visual arts. I earned my degree in Film and Video from Columbia College Chicago, and I’m proficient in digital photography and video production, bringing a cinematic and intentional approach to every wedding, event, and portrait session I capture.
In addition to photography, I’m also a film director and writer (T.A. Acierto), with two feature films to my credit. I currently serve as the Head of Film Production for Cinebandits and Lenspark Media, where I continue to develop and produce narrative-driven work. My background in filmmaking shapes the way I approach weddings and events—focusing on real moments, emotion, and storytelling rather than just posed images.
Originally from the Philippines, I moved to the United States at the age of 18 and worked my way through school to pursue my passion for film and photography. That journey continues to influence how I connect with people and approach every client experience with authenticity and care.
Over the years, most of my clients have come through word of mouth, which I’m incredibly grateful for. Many have become close friends, and I’ve had the privilege of capturing multiple milestones for them—from surprise proposals and weddings to maternity and family sessions. Those lasting relationships are what make this work truly meaningful.
Above all, I’m a family man, supported by my wife Barbara Acierto and our two amazing kids, Arya and Ayden. Family, connection, and genuine moments are at the heart of everything I do.

Q. What's the first step in booking your service?
Answer: First step is to connect via the Contact page to determine if your event date is still open on my end. From there, we can set-up a time to connect so we can determine the right package for you.
Q. We want to book you! What's next?
Answer: The next step is contract signing and payment of retainer fee ($400) to lock the date.
Q. When is the balance due?
Answer: The balance is due on or before the day of the scheduled photography service.
Q. What type of payments do you accept?
Answer: Cash, Venmo, Zelle, Paypal or Check. Most, if not all, of electronic money transfers I mentioned also accept credit card (Depending on how you set-up your account with them).

Q: How many weddings have you photographed before?
Answer: I've been photographing weddings and events for about 8 years now and I honestly lost count after a hundred! I'm almost at the 9th year in the wedding and events photography business. I love what I do!
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
Answer: I use a professional line of Canon/Sigma camera gears and lenses. I shoot in two camera system using mostly prime lenses with the highest grade of quality. Of all my equipments though, my favorite one to use is my eyes.
Q: Is your pricing flexible? Can we customize the hours, timing etc.?
Answer: Yes! my photography packages are malleable depending on the budget and deliverables.
Q: How soon can we book your service?
Answer: If you are certain with your Photographer and you've done your research - then BOOK! Most photographers cannot hold the date for you for a very long time specially during the peak of wedding season from May - October.
Q: How much is your required retainer fee?
Answer: Retainer fee for weddings is $300. This amount will be deducted towards the final value of the chosen wedding photography package. Full payment for wedding services is due on or before the date of the event.

As a Chicago wedding photographer with over 17 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of capturing weddings at many of the most sought-after venues across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. From iconic downtown locations to elegant banquet halls and unique architectural spaces, each venue brings its own character and story.
Some of the notable Chicago wedding venues I’ve photographed at include The Palmer House, The Drake Hotel, InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier, Congress Plaza Hotel, Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile, Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile, The Westin Chicago River North, Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront, Swissôtel Chicago, Hyatt Regency O’Hare, The Westin Michigan Avenue, and The Estate Chicago.

I specialize in documenting a diverse range of cultural and traditional weddings across Chicago, with a deep respect for each celebration’s customs and traditions. My experience includes South-East Asian, Indian, Polish, Filipino, American, Irish, German, Mexican, LGBTQ+, Muslim, Jewish, Puerto Rican, and traditional African weddings.
