Tara and Jimmy’s Wedding at The Monte Bello Estate in Lemont
Updated: Sep 29
Planning a wedding at The Monte Bello Estate in Lemont, Illinois? Tara and Jimmy’s real wedding shows what this venue can look like through a complete day of photographs: preparations, a garden first look, a gazebo ceremony, portraits, and a lively reception. We photographed their celebration here, so these examples show our own work at the estate.
Is The Monte Bello Estate a good wedding venue?
The Monte Bello Estate can be a good wedding venue for couples who want garden portraits and an outdoor ceremony in Lemont. Tara and Jimmy’s wedding used the gardens for a first look, the gazebo for their vows and the estate entrance for a nighttime portrait. Confirm your ceremony backup space and portrait access with the venue, then allow time for both daylight and evening photographs.

These sample wedding photos at The Monte Bello Estate show Tara and Jimmy’s real preparations, garden first look, gazebo ceremony and reception. Look for the difference between the daytime garden photographs and their evening portrait.

Getting ready at The Monte Bello Estate
Before the ceremony, the wedding story begins with details and the people around the couple. Tara’s dress, invitations, rings, and time with her bridal party gave us a chance to record the small things she chose for the day, along with candid moments that are easy to miss once the schedule gets busy.

A first look in the gardens
The landscaped paths, trees, ivy-covered doorway, and garden waterfall make The Monte Bello Estate especially useful for portraits without leaving the venue. Tara and Jimmy chose a garden first look and exchanged handwritten notes. We made photographs of that private moment before moving on to wedding-party portraits across the grounds.

If you are planning a first look here, we can build a portrait window into the timeline and choose a spot based on the day’s light and your ceremony location. The same grounds also give us room for full wedding-party and family groups.
The outdoor gazebo ceremony
Tara approached the outdoor ceremony before she and Jimmy exchanged vows and rings beneath the garden gazebo. We documented the entrance, their expressions, the officiant, the ring exchange, their kiss, and their walk back down the aisle. Those moments show why a Monte Bello Estate wedding photographer should know how to move between wide views of the setting and close reactions without interrupting the ceremony.

The estate also describes an indoor ceremony space for weather changes. If you are considering an outdoor ceremony, confirm your actual backup plan with the venue and share both layouts with your photographer ahead of time.
Reception photos that complete the story
The reception space gave us another look for the day: decorated tables, an entrance, speeches, and dances beneath the draped ceiling. We photograph the room before guests settle in when the schedule allows, then follow the people and unscripted reactions as the celebration unfolds.

We also made a nighttime portrait beside the ivy-covered estate entrance. It is an example of how a short evening photo break can add a very different image to a gallery filled with daytime garden light.
