Julie Baldinger and Andrew Blachut’s wedding day felt like a full journey across Chicago, from quiet moments in the morning to a celebration that carried into the night.
They both started their day getting ready separately, Julie at an Airbnb in Des Plaines and Andrew in Park Ridge. There’s always something special about that part of the day, a lot of anticipation and a lot of meaning behind what’s about to happen.

First Look at Lake Opeka (Before the Wedding ceremony at Burning Bush Brewery)
Their first look took place at Lake Opeka, and it was one of those moments where everything just slows down.
Andrew arrived first, waiting by the water, and when Julie walked up behind him, you could feel the shift instantly. It was private, emotional, and real. No distractions, just the two of them taking it in before the day picked up pace.
From there, we moved straight into portraits and bridal party photos, capturing a mix of candid moments and clean, timeless shots with their closest friends and family.

Celebrating with Family at Cheers
After the first look, everyone headed to Cheers in Niles. This part of the day had a lighter feel, drinks flowing, laughter building, and everyone starting to settle into celebration mode.

We captured full bridal party photos, immediate family, and some relaxed moments between Julie and Andrew before heading into the next location.
North Avenue Beach – A Cinematic Chicago Backdrop
By the time we reached North Avenue Beach, the energy shifted again.
With the skyline nearby and the open space, this is where we leaned into more creative portraits. The bridal party brought great energy, and Julie and Andrew were completely in sync. These are the moments where you can step back a bit and let things happen naturally.

It’s always worth making time for a location like this. It adds a completely different look and feel to the gallery.
A Unique Ceremony at Burning Bush Brewery
The ceremony took place at the River Room at Burning Bush Brewery in Chicago, and what made it even more meaningful was that it was officiated by a close friend.
Blending both Jewish and Catholic traditions, the ceremony felt personal and intentional. It wasn’t just about tradition, it was about creating something that reflected who they are together.

No Slowing Down! Time to Celebrate :)
As the night went on, the celebration carried that same energy from earlier in the day, just elevated!

One of the standout moments was stepping away for a brief night portrait. Photography at Burning Bush Brewery Wedding Chicago - River Room is a breeze with its picturesque surroundings. These are the moments I always encourage couples to take. Even just a few minutes can create something completely different from the rest of the day.

That quiet pause turned into one of the most striking images of the night. A simple dip, a bit of movement, and intentional lighting created something that felt cinematic and timeless at the same time.
Why This Day Worked So Well
Julie and Andrew trusted the process. They gave themselves time to move, to breathe, and to actually experience the day instead of rushing through it.

From Lake Opeka to North Avenue Beach and into the River Room, every part of the day had its own tone, and that variety is what made their gallery feel complete.

Planning Your Chicago Wedding Photography
If you’re planning a wedding in Chicago or the surrounding suburbs, building a timeline that allows for both meaningful moments and creative portraits makes all the difference.
Whether it’s a first look by the water, portraits in the city, or stepping out at night for something cinematic, those small decisions add up to a gallery that feels personal and real.
